When traveling with your family to Charlotte, NC, you may want to find activities geared towards family and keep your kids happy. There are plenty of familythings in and around Charlotte your kids will love, and we’ve listed a few below.

Carowinds

This amusement park is known as the thrill capital of the Southeast. It has all kinds of fun for all ages, with the biggest adrenaline rush being the 325 foot tall Fury 325. It is the fastest and tallest gigacoaster in the world. Or, you can take a ride on the Intimidator, which is another of the park’s tallest rides.

Carolinas Aviation Museum

This is the home of the Miracle on the Hudson, US Airways Flight 1549 and the Piedmont Airlines DC-3, plus several other kinds of private and military aircraft. Their collection of helicopters, aircraft, gadgets, equipment and printed material cover several years of aviation accomplishments and history.

Ray’s Splash Planet

This 29,000 square foot indoor facility features a fitness area and water park. The water park has all kinds of fun features including water squirters, a figure-eight waterslide, tumble buckets, and a lazy river.

Discovery Place

Discovery Place is one of the most visited attractions in the Carolinas, featuring deep sea aquariums, interactive science lab stations, a digital 3-D theater and other fun elements. You can also check out Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville, where your little ones can explore the world around them through play. They’ll be encouraged to experience new things through fun, imagination and learning. Kids through second grade will love this interactive museum.

Speedpark at Concord Mills

Your family will love racing each other on the four scaled race tracks at Speedpark. The Superspeedway, the premier track here, has an oval that is a quarter mile long and cars that are styled like the Sprint Cup. The park also has an 18-hole miniature golf course, four go-kart tracks, spider web, 110 foot Fun Slide, bungee jump, party pavilion and concessions.
