Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Head to Avon, North Carolina, to visit Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which is a 72-mile stretch of beach along Highway 12. This thin cape runs along the barrier islands from Nags Head to Ocracoke Island. It is a great place for swimming or lounging in the sand. Plus, if you are looking for an exciting landmark to visit, you can check out the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It is the nation’s tallest lighthouse, and you can climb its 248 steps for a fantastic view.

Emerald Isle

Plus, it is known for its crystal-clear waters, making it the perfect place to snorkel, paddle board, swim, or surf. The quaint town nearby offers shopping and great seaside restaurants.

Oak Island Beach

Oak Island Beach, on southern North Carolina’s Oak Island, is a fantastic place to take your family for the day or a weekend getaway. The beach is not overcrowded and offers a great spot to watch the sunrise and set. The water is often calm, and there is plenty of sand to play in, making it a hit among children.

North Carolina has many wonderful beaches. While they’re obviously popular during summer months, the best time to visit is from March to May or September to November, when prices are lower and crowds smaller.
